People First

People First

Our colleagues are our greatest asset—engaged and dedicated teams are the foundation of our long-term success and sustainability efforts.

Sustainable Chain

Sustainable Chain

From production to the end customer, we strive to minimize our environmental and climate impact across every stage of our operations.

Global goals

Our sustainability work has a clear basis in the global development goals adopted by the General Assembly of the UN with the objective of achieving a better and more sustainable future for everyone by 2030. We have chosen to focus on the five goals that we believe that we as producers of healthcare products for pets have a direct or indirect effect on and that can affect the developments across the whole value chain; equality, decent working conditions and economic growth, sustainable consumption and production; combat climate change and protection of ocean and marine resources.

We contribute to a more equal society

We contribute to a more equal society

Swedencare promotes equality, diversity, and inclusivity as part of its commitment to sustainable development. We support women through initiatives like Feather in Her Cap, which recognizes women making an impact in the pet health industry. Currently, Swedencare's workforce is 52% men and 48% women.

Promote good health and safety

Promote good health and safety

Motivated colleagues are our greatest asset. We prioritize health, safety, and continuous improvement of the working environment through employee surveys and analysis. As a flexible company, we adapt to the evolving work life. We also support local communities by being an active employer, hiring staff and subcontractors from the surrounding area, benefiting both the locality and local businesses.

We choose sustainable solutions & options

We choose sustainable solutions & options

Swedencare is committed to improving sustainability across the entire product life cycle to reduce our climate and environmental impact. We ensure suppliers follow our Code of Conduct on sustainability and actively focus on using renewable materials in our packaging where possible.

Reduce carbon footprint

Reduce carbon footprint

As a producer, we take responsibility for reducing our environmental impact. We actively work to lower our carbon footprint from freight transport and energy consumption by reducing packaging and optimizing deliveries. In 2023, we continued converting our fleet of industrial trucks from fossil fuels to electric, with 66% now electric. We also monitor energy consumption and aim to increase the use of renewable energy across the Group.

We protect the ocean

We protect the ocean

Protecting the sea and marine resources is a priority for us, as the raw material for our ProDen PlaqueOff® is sustainably harvested from the clean waters off Norway and the Arctic Circle. We ensure all marine-sourced raw materials are sustainably sourced, including those used in our NaturVet® brand, certified by Friend of the Sea. We are committed to minimizing the climate impact throughout the entire production process.

The way forward 2025

The way forward 2025

In 2024, Swedencare prepared for the CSRD and ESRS requirements effective from 2025, including a double materiality analysis. A GAP analysis is planned for early 2025. The UN's sustainability goals remain part of the strategy. The goal is sustainability reporting that meets legal requirements and creates value.
